Medihoney Paste Features

  • Sterile and for single use only

  • This dressing comes in a tube, just like the Medihoney Gel

  • More viscous formulation with increased stability at the wound site

  • Demonstrated efficacy from the onset of a wound through to closure

  • The honey helps pull fluids and dead tissue from deep tissue to the surface

  • Indicated for superficial to full-thickness wounds and burns that are light to moderately draining

  • High osmotic potential pulls fluid from deeper tissues to the wound surface, aiding in autolytic debridement

Indications

  • Diabetic foot ulcers

  • 1st and 2nd degree burns

  • Light to moderately exuding wounds

  • Pressure ulcers/sores (partial and full thickness)

  • Donor sites, traumatic and surgical wounds

  • Leg ulcers (venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, and leg ulcers of mixed etiology)

Contraindications

  • 3rd-degree burns

  • Patients with a known sensitivity to honey

  • Control of heavy bleeding
